Model Overview

The VOYAH Zhuiguang is an executive flagship sedan from VOYAH, the premium new energy vehicle (NEV) marque under Dongfeng Motor Corporation. Serving as the crowning entry in VOYAH's "Three Flagship Matrix" (FREE, Dreamer, and Zhuiguang), it is positioned as a "new-era flagship sedan" tailored for all-scenario luxury travel. As of 2026, the Zhuiguang stable has branched into two main model lines: the Zhuiguang L, serving as the executive luxury tech flagship, and the Zhuiguang S, positioned as a sporty, tech-driven executive SUV.

On 10 December 2025, the VOYAH Zhuiguang L was officially launched with two variants: the 4WD Max priced at RM279,900 and the 4WD Ultra at RM309,900. Concurrently, introductory perks for first-time owners were rolled out, offering six major worry-free ownership privileges valued at around RM52,000, including a lifetime warranty on the EV powertrain system (battery, motor, and electronic control units) as well as five years of complimentary scheduled maintenance. For the 2026 model year, the Zhuiguang L is offered in 4WD Max and 4WD Ultra trims, both sharing largely identical core equipment with differences limited to specific comfort features and chassis hardware. Dimensionally, the Zhuiguang L measures 5,125 mm in length with a generous wheelbase in the 2,900 mm class.

Design Language

The exterior styling of the VOYAH Zhuiguang L incorporates the brand's latest "Heaven, Earth, and Kunpeng" design philosophy, blending Oriental aesthetics with state-of-the-art technology to deliver a commanding road presence aimed squarely at the executive luxury segment dominated by the German "BBA 56E" rivals. Taking centre stage up front is the "Soaring Skyward Grille," featuring 34 meticulously arranged vertical chrome slats that evoke the imagery of "soaring ninety thousand li into the sky." This is complemented by an illuminated VOYAH logo in the centre, a full-width LED light bar, and "Striking Three Thousand Li of Water" headlights flanking either side to project a majestic, upscale aura. The Zhuiguang L is available in dual-tone finishes, led by flagship Jinluan Red and Jinyao Black combinations, while single-tone options include Xuanying Black, Duruo White, Chenxing Grey, and Champagne Gold, all tailored to accentuate its premium stature. Higher-spec variants also feature gold trim accents running along the bonnet and roofline, adding an extra layer of executive flair.

In contrast, the Zhuiguang S embraces a sportier, high-tech aesthetic, sporting sculpted bonnet lines with integrated air vents, carbon-fibre exterior accents, sleek headlamps, and a pronounced front bumper for a noticeably sharper, more aggressive profile.

Inside, the VOYAH Zhuiguang L opts for a contemporary, bespoke aesthetic paired with a clean, dignified dashboard layout. Standard across the range are the "Luxury Cloud Seats," engineered with a 10-layer comfort structure featuring dual quick- and slow-rebound cushioning layers that contour seamlessly to the occupant's body. The cabin is available in three interior colour themes: Danxia Red, Rice White, and Yanshan Grey. Extensive soft-touch trim and premium upholstery are applied throughout, creating a minimalist yet thoroughly upscale and tech-focused ambiance.

Powertrain & Performance

The VOYAH Zhuiguang L is underpinned by Full-Domain 800V Intelligent Super Hybrid Technology, which pairs a 1.5-litre dedicated hybrid turbocharged engine with front and rear electric motors to create a potent plug-in hybrid (PHEV) setup, with dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) standard across the board. System output is exceptionally strong, completing the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 4.8 seconds, while returning a CLTC battery-depleted fuel consumption of merely 4.9 L/100 km, masterfully combining brisk performance with outstanding efficiency.

Energy storage comes courtesy of a standard 63 kWh ternary lithium battery pack across all variants (supplied by SVOLT), delivering an impressive CLTC pure electric range of 410 km (327 km on the WLTC cycle) and a total combined range of up to 1,400 km on a full tank and full charge. This puts it among the longest-range PHEV sedans globally in pure EV mode. On the charging front, the Zhuiguang L supports 800V 5C super-fast charging technology, allowing a 20% to 80% state of charge (SoC) in just 12 minutes. It maintains excellent charging efficiency even in extreme cold conditions as low as -25°C, delivering the three core pillars of ultra-fast charging, long range, and low energy consumption.

Meanwhile, the upcoming Zhuiguang S will offer rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations with total electric motor outputs rated at 300 kW and 475 kW respectively, also backed by 800V ultra-fast charging capability.

Chassis & Handling

The chassis setup is one of the standout engineering highlights of the VOYAH Zhuiguang. The series is equipped with the "Intelligent Magic Carpet Chassis", integrating adaptive air suspension, Continuous Damping Control (CDC) variable dampers, and active rear-wheel steering. By scanning the road ahead via front-mounted cameras, the system proactively adjusts damper stiffness to keep the vehicle exceptionally flat and composed over uneven road surfaces. In real-world driving conditions, the air suspension does a stellar job of soaking up undulations and potholes, effortlessly ironing out large jolts while keeping body roll in check to deliver a true "magic carpet" ride quality.

Suspension-wise, the Zhuiguang employs a sophisticated layout comprising front double wishbones and a rear five-link independent suspension setup. High amounts of aluminium components are used throughout the suspension links, significantly reducing unsprung mass while improving tyre contact patch stability and dynamic handling agility.

Steering duties are handled by an active rear-wheel steering system paired with finely calibrated Electric Power Steering (EPS), delivering reassuring weighting, balanced assistance, and precise off-centre response at low-to-medium speeds. The intelligent AWD system works in tandem with the chassis hardware, actively distributing torque across both axles to optimise traction and cornering stability under challenging road conditions.

Cabin & Features

The VOYAH Zhuiguang L comes factory-fitted with the HUAWEI HarmonyOS Smart Cockpit across the range. The 2025 iteration runs on HarmonyOS 4.0, featuring advanced voice interaction and multi-scenario profile switching via a triple-display setup: a 12.3-inch full digital instrument cluster, a 15.4-inch floating centre touchscreen, and an 8-inch rear centre armrest control display. The 2026 model step-up upgrades to HarmonyOS 5.1, highlighted by a larger, sharper 16.1-inch 3K floating centre display for an even more fluid visual and interactive user experience. The HarmonyOS ecosystem supports features like Super Desktop and One-Hop seamless media transfer between Huawei smartphones, tablets, and the vehicle. Over-The-Air (OTA) software update support is also included to continuously roll out feature enhancements.

In terms of convenience and comfort, the Zhuiguang L gets standard "Cloud Seats" front and rear. The front seats feature power adjustments, ventilation, heating, and massage functions (with the 4WD Ultra receiving the full suite of adjustability), while the second row offers seat heating, ventilation, and power backrest recline (ranging from 27° to 35°), with the rear-left executive seat benefiting from a one-touch relaxation mode and an electric ottoman leg rest. Other standard appointments include four-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic glass roof, 256-colour ambient lighting, and wireless smartphone charging pads. Boot capacity is generous, with split-folding rear seatbacks providing extra versatility for daily errands and long-distance road trips alike.

For in-car entertainment, the 4WD Ultra variant comes fitted with a Dynaudio premium audio system (full speaker specifications to be confirmed), providing an immersive, concert-grade acoustic experience.

Safety & Intelligent Driving

Advanced driver assistance on the VOYAH Zhuiguang L is powered by the HUAWEI Qiankun ADS 4 system, which is fitted as standard across all variants. It is backed by a comprehensive sensor suite comprising 1 unit of 192-line LiDAR, 3 units of 4D millimetre-wave radar, and a total of 29 high-precision intelligent perception sensors.

Core driving assistance features include Parking Space-to-Parking Space 2.0 Navigation Cruise Assist (covering both Urban and Highway Navigation on Autopilot / NOA) along with All-Scenario Intelligent Parking Assist (supporting fully automated park-in and park-out manoeuvres). Built on the advanced WEWA technical architecture, ADS 4 slashes end-to-end latency by 50%, improves traffic flow efficiency by 20%, and cuts harsh braking occurrences by 70% compared with ADS 3, resulting in markedly smoother and more human-like decision-making. Additionally, ADS 4 introduces the new eAES Anti-Sandwich feature, which anticipates squeeze and rear-end hazards during high-speed vehicle following to further enhance overall safety margins. Standard across the range is the Full-Dimension Collision Prevention System 4.0, which works with the 29-sensor array to actively monitor and mitigate front, rear, and lateral collision threats.

Passive safety is underpinned by a high-rigidity safety cage structure containing over 70% high-strength steel, reinforced by hot-stamped boron steel in critical load-bearing zones. For occupant restraint, the entire range comes equipped with dual front airbags, front side airbags, and full-length front-to-rear curtain airbags (totalling 6 to 8 airbags depending on trim configuration).

Market Performance & Outlook

The VOYAH Zhuiguang L made its official debut in December 2025, acting as a crucial model in VOYAH's offensive into the executive luxury sedan market and completing the brand's "Three Flagship" lineup. Its launch came at a time of remarkable momentum for the brand: in November 2025, VOYAH breached the 20,000-unit monthly delivery mark for the first time with 20,005 vehicles, logging ten straight months of month-on-month sales growth. Between 2022 and 2024, VOYAH recorded a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 103.2%, ranking among the top three fastest-growing premium NEV brands.

Even so, the nameplate previously saw some market fluctuations. In 2024, full-year sales of the outgoing Zhuiguang stood at 5,304 units, with the PHEV variant recording a monthly peak of 1,256 units in September. By January 2025, monthly sales had dipped to 256 units. With the arrival of the Zhuiguang L, armed with the "Full Huawei Tech Suite" (HarmonyOS Cockpit + Qiankun ADS 4), an 800V intelligent super hybrid setup, a sizeable 63 kWh battery, and 5C fast-charging capability, it enters the RM300,000-bracket luxury sedan segment with a competitive starting price of RM279,900, taking on key rivals like the AVATR 12. If the Zhuiguang L reaches its projected annual target of 30,000 units, it will contribute over RM9,000,000,000 in incremental revenue to VOYAH—representing roughly 46% of its total 2024 turnover and playing a pivotal role in strengthening the brand's financial health.

As VOYAH's inaugural executive production sedan, the Zhuiguang lineup (spanning Zhuiguang L and Zhuiguang S) capitalises on the synergistic formula of "established state-owned automotive manufacturing prowess combined with cutting-edge Huawei technology." Armed with striking design, a full-domain 800V PHEV powertrain, the Huawei smart ecosystem, and an adaptive Magic Carpet chassis, it is well equipped to go toe-to-toe with EV challengers like Li Auto and NIO as well as traditional German luxury stalwarts, positioning it favourably to capture a substantial share of executive car buyers.
